The department is building a research culture focused on evidence-based solutions for public health challenges in Nigeria, including disease surveillance, health education, nutrition, environmental safety and health systems strengthening.
Research and academic partnerships will support interdisciplinary learning across public health, environmental sciences, community development and health policy practice.
The department plans to host public health lectures, seminars and knowledge-sharing events that connect classroom learning with real health challenges and community action.
Priority project areas include community health needs assessment, maternal and child health, disease prevention strategies, and public health education campaigns for local well-being.
