The B.Sc. Public Health programme is among the new programmes approved by the National Universities Commission for Igbinedion University, Okada, for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Public health protects and improves the health of entire populations. Our department prepares students to understand the causes of disease, prevent illness before it starts, and promote healthier lives in families and communities across Nigeria and beyond.
Housed within the College of Health Sciences, the department combines scientific foundations with a strong commitment to community well-being, ethical practice and leadership.
About the departmentThe Bachelor of Science in Public Health introduces students to the science and practice of protecting population health — from epidemiology and biostatistics to environmental health, health promotion and health policy.
The programme is designed as a four-year full-time degree that blends foundational sciences, public health practice, epidemiology, health promotion and community-based learning.
